Author talk with Kell Woods - Moruya Library

Join us for a stimulating discussion, light refreshments, and the chance to meet Kell and buy signed copies of her books.

Join bestselling author Kell Woods who writes fantasy books that blend fairy tales, history and folklore. Kell's debut novel After the Forest, a Hansel & Gretel re-telling set in the Black Forest in 1650, was a UK Sunday Times bestseller. Her second book, Upon A Starlit Tide, which combines elements of The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, will be available on March 5, 2025.

After the Forest gives a unique perspective of what happens to the siblings Hansel and Gretel (Hans and Greta for this story) after they survived the tumultuous time they spent in the witch’s cottage. Greta bakes to keep the family afloat, Hans gambles his money away, and the village folk are pyromaniacs out to get any woman they suspect is a witch. While Hans sinks deeper and deeper into debt, Greta’s gingerbread cookies continue to bewitch the townsfolk around her.

Kell works in libraries and museums so she can always be surrounded by stories, and lives on the South Coast of NSW. Join us for a stimulating discussion, light refreshments and to meet Kell and purchase signed copies of her books.
