Saturday Matinee Movie - Moruya Library

Join us at Moruya Library for our monthly Saturday matinee!

Join us at Moruya Library for our October Saturday Matinee Movie.

This 2010 historical drama based upon real events stars Geoffrey Rush, Colin Firth, and Helena Bonham Carter. The film tells the story of Australian born speech therapist Lional Logue and his working relationship with King George the VI. Suffering from low confidence and a speech impediment, the newly crowned King George’s work with Lional Logue improved his confidence and equipped him with the personal tools and courage he came to rely upon to guide his country through the war years.

A carefully crafted film, critics have praised its focus on characterisation as opposed to drama. The film was a winner of many awards including Best Picture at the 2010 Academy Awards.

Enjoy the film, refreshments, and a chat. Due to licensing restrictions, we cannot advertise the movie name. Please ask our friendly library staff for more information.Free session. Eventbrite bookings essential.
